History

Seelye Craftsmen Co. has been in existence since 1912.  It was purchased by the Arthur Welsh Jr. family in 1972.  Art stepped down from the role of CEO in 2006 handing the reins over to his son Tom.  Tom assumed the role of Chief Executive in 1989 after leaving his previous job in sales and operations.

Since 1972, Seelye operations have grown enough that they have resided in three separate locations.  Their current location is a 40,000 square foot facility in the Minneapolis suburb of Plymouth, Minnesota.  Seelye currently operates two shifts, 5-6 days per week.

Through the years Seelye has maintained an industry reputation as a quality oriented shop that is able to handle the tight tolerance, uniform finish type parts that cause many shops problems. Having cut our teeth fabricating parts for the food equipment industry, we learned early on the importance of consistency in part fabrication. As the years went by, Seelye found another niche in the Semi-Conductor Processing Equipment market.

Seelye’s ability to meet the tolerances and finish requirements of this industry has led to work with over 400 different customers serving many different industries. These customers range from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups looking for collaboration in the manufacture of their parts.

Growth has always been a goal for Seelye Craftsmen Co. Not only have they looked to grow in size, but we have looked to grow in knowledge and capability as well. Seelye is certified to ISO 9001:2008. Our Continuous Improvement programs and Lean efforts are a constant buzz in our daily activities. Through the years Seelye has purchased state of the art fabricating equipment such as our newest addition,  a 5000 watt Trumpf laser.
