Job Title: Press Brake Operator

Location: Plymouth, Minnesota

Job Type: Full-time/Part-time Available

Introduction:

We are seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. As a Press Brake Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, punch, notch, and form metal sheets and plates according to specified requirements.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and prepare press brake machines for operation based on job specifications and drawings.

  • Program machine settings for each job using computer controls or manual settings.

  • Load materials into the machine and position them for processing.

  • Operate press brake machines to bend, punch, cut, form, and straighten metal plates and sheets.

  • Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and consistency of finished products.

  • Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and dimensional specifications.

  • Make adjustments to machine settings as needed to correct deviations from specifications.

  • Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines and tools.

  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

 

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Press Brake Operator or similar role in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.

  • Proficiency in setting up and operating press brake machines.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.

  • Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

 

Skills:

  • Technical proficiency in operating press brake machines.

  • Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with machine operation.

  • Physical strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy materials.

  • Time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.

  • Adherence to safety protocols and practices.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Noise levels can be high due to operating machinery like shears and press brakes.

  • Gloves and safety glasses are required due to sharp metal edges and flying debris.

  • Strict adherence to safety protocols for handling heavy machinery and equipment.
